Are there any functions that can help shorten the work time?

Modified on Mon, 29 Jan at 10:04 AM

Yes, there are.

ACTY'S is equipped with various functions as follows that help you adjust your schedule to shorten the work period.

The bar chart created by ACTY'S becomes the digital data of schedule plan as it is.
By utilizing digital data, rescheduling can be performed more quickly than manual adjustments.

Time Analysis

  • This is a function that automatically calculates the optimum schedule based on the information held by the activities.
  • Based on the Time Now (set the current time on the computer or any date and time), time analysis is performed while considering required Duration for each Task, Constraint (relationships and restrictions between Tasks) and Calendar information, then rearrange Active Bars according to the result.

To complete the project in the shortest possible schedule, Tasks are rearranged by front-loading.
You can select the target of Time Analysis for either the whole bar chart or the selected Bars, allowing you the flexible adjustment according to the progress of the project.

Scheduling

  • This is a simple scheduler that uses a part of functions of our high-speed scheduler library “Kamui Orario”.
  • You can specify front-loading (or back-loading) and perform automatic scheduling.

By using "Kamui Orario", you can achieve optimal scheduling that takes into account various restrictions such as time and skill.

Histogram

  • This is a function that visually expresses the load status of each resource used in the project.
  • The assigned workload for each resource (human resources, equipment, etc.) is displayed in a stacked graph format.
  • The horizontal direction of the graph represents the duration of the task and the vertical direction represents the load per time slot.
  • If the total value of the pile exceeds the set Resource Availability, the excess portion is displayed in red allowing you to visually understand the overloaded state.

By visually checking the resource availability with Histogram and By Resource View, and making adjustments such as changing resources to be assigned or front-loading the schedule, it is possible to shorten the work period.

Move with Succeeding Bars

  • By setting “Move with Succeeding Bars” on the Toolbar to ON, if you select and move the Earliest Start Bar you want to move with the mouse, the subsequent activities (Succeeding Task Bars) connected by Constraints (relationships and restrictions between Tasks) will also move together.
  • This function is useful when you want to move only a part of the bar chart to align forward.

What is Constraint?
It represents the execution order for Tasks and their dependencies (such as activity B can be started when activity A is finished, or activity B can be started when activity A is started, etc.). In ACTY'S, it is expressed as an arrow connecting Bars.
